We offer a broad topic menu covering the areas of Career Development, Education Planning, & Personal Development. Our workshops walk clients through self-assessment, identifying needs & current trends in the labour market, setting realistic goals, planning action steps to success, & overcoming barriers.
Available workshops include:
Job Club, facilitated by BGS Career Specialists, provide you with an environment of ongoing support & encouragement as you work towards reaching your employment goal. Job Club is a team effort between you and BGS staff actively working to obtain employment opportunities. As you pursue employment, we also work to establish leads/ contacts based on your employment targets.
BGS staff support job search activities by reviewing progress, modelling job search skills (i.e. cold calling), introducing new job search techniques & supporting you to overcome any challenges that may occur during your job search.

Our services are primarily delivered out of the local Alberta Supports sites:
- St Paul: Main Floor, 5025 49 Avenue
- Vegreville: 5121 49 Street
Available jobs are dependent on local labour market opportunities and conditions. Together, we will look for available employment opportunities that meets your employment/ career goals.
If you are marginally employed (less than full-time hours or inconsistent employment) or know that your employment will be ending, you can participate in our services.
Your best option is to attend our Resume Workshop. The workshop provides an introduction to resumes for participants who do not have a current resume or those who have a resume but do not fully understand the resume elements that are required for a successful job search. Even if you have a resume but it has been some time since it has been updated, you could benefit from attending and hearing about new resume concepts and strategies for today’s labour market.

Drop-In Job Club is available to anyone and is an opportunity for you to network with fellow job seekers and share local hidden job market information. Job Club offers an environment of ongoing support & encouragement as you work towards reaching your employment target.
