Position Summary

The Facilitator plays a central role in our employment readiness programming designing and delivering engaging workshops and small group sessions that build client confidence and employability skills. The Facilitator supports clients in developing effective job search strategies, career readiness skills, and life stability knowledge. This role requires strong instructional design and adult learning expertise, combined with a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

 

Key Responsibilities

Deliver workshops and small group sessions on employment readiness, life stability, financial literacy, and career development.
Support clients through individual and group facilitation in areas such as résumé and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment conducive to participation and skill development.
Act as a subject matter expert, modeling professional behavior and workplace expectations.
Assist clients in identifying career interests and employment goals, and support their progress through coaching and tailored instruction.
Incorporate adult learning principles and adapt delivery to diverse learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and family contexts.
Collaborate with staff to integrate facilitation content with client action plans and program objectives.
Monitor client progress and provide feedback, adjusting workshop delivery as needed.
Stay current on labour market trends, community supports, and inclusive employment practices to ensure workshop content remains relevant.
 

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in human services, social sciences, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with underrepresented job seekers, single parents, or families.
Demonstrated expertise in adult facilitation and workshop delivery.
Familiar with trauma-informed practice and family-centered supports.
Knowledge of adult learning principles, group dynamics, and life skills instruction.
Proficiency in:
Career counselling and job search techniques
Résumé and cover letter development
Interview preparation and coaching
Instructional design and group instruction
Relationship management, communication, and service management
Strong knowledge of community resources, the local labour market, and inclusive employment practices.
High level of emotional intelligence, initiative, and enthusiasm for service delivery.
